Founded in 1869, the Italian Society of Ophthalmology is a legally recognized non-profit Moral Entity, reference point for more than 7,000 Italian ophthalmologists and one of the oldest Scientific Societies in Europe that has more than 4,600 Members.
In 2019 SOI will be celebrating 150 Years of its foundation and on the occasion of such a special anniversary the 17th SOI International Congress will take place in Rome on 23-25 May, 2019 at the “Roma Convention Center La Nuvola”, an architectural masterpiece signed by Massimiliano Fuksas.
